Completing the Excel file with your customer data

Enter one customer per row and fill in each cell as follows:

first_name First name (e.g. John)
last_name Last name (e.g. Doe)
gender Gender (male or female)
email Email (e.g.
mobile Cell phone (e.g. (555) 555-1234)
birthday Date of birth (e.g. 12/31 or 12/31/1980)
address_street Street and number (e.g. 115 East Street)
address_postal_code Zip code (e.g. 10002)
address_city City (e.g. New York)
notes Creates a customer note with the specified content
tags Assign your customers to specific groups. If there’s more than one group, they need to be separated with a comma (e.g. VIP,Beauty,PrioA)

You can add further information such as the land line number as customer attributes by labeling additional columns of the spreadsheet accordingly. Customer attributes define which information is stored in your customer data.


Transmitting customer data in compliance with data protection rules

We recommend sending the customer list using the following procedure to ensure that your customer data is protected according to European data protection regulations:

  1. Save the Excel file as a password-protected Zip file. You can set the password yourself. In the next section, you will find an instruction on how to create a password-protected Zip file in Windows.

  3. Send us the password separately via the live chat in your Shore account. Make sure that you are logged in with the same email address you used to send us the customer list. This way, the file and the password can be matched automatically. 


Creating a password-protected Zip file in Windows

  1. If necessary, install a compression program such as 7-Zip. You can find a secure download here.
  2. Right-click on the Excel file and select 7-Zip > Add to archive.
  3. A new window opens. Enter a password under "Encryption" and select AES-256 as encryption format.
  4. Make sure that the file extension "zip" is selected in the upper left under "Archive format".
  5. Click OK to compress the file as a secure Zip archive.
